New to Okanagan College IT services? Here's a starting point...

Okanagan College uses a single login name and password for the majority of it's services. When you apply to the college we will send an email to your personal email account with your  assigned username and a temporary password. 

The email will be from "oc-do-not-reply@oanagan.bc.ca" with the subject "Okanagan College Student Account Created" If you can't find it please search your deleted, spam or junk mail folders. If you encounter any issues setting up your account, please contact IT Services Helpdesk. 1. First Login & changing you password

Browse to https://myokanagan.bc.ca 

Log in with your COLLEGE ASSIGNED email address, usually in the form:  firstname.lastname@myokanagan.bc.ca

Use the password emailed to your personal email account.

For your first login you will be prompted to change your password...

To secure your account, change the password to something personal.   Enter your temporary password again, then create a new password

  • It should have 6 or more characters.  
  • It should have at least one UPPER CASE letter, It should have at least one lower case letter,
  • It should have at least one number or symbol (1, 3, 7, #, $, %,*, !, etc), and
  • It can not be the same as a previously-used password.

Your password will be consistent across all the Okanagan College apps, including computer labs, myOkanagan, Cloud based M365, Moodle, eduroam on campus wireless access and your OC email address .   You use the same password for everything.

2. MFA  (Multi-Factor Authentication)

Okanagan College uses MFA (multi-factor authentication) which is a security level above just using a username and password. And it may take a number of forms … so an imposter would have to have more than just a password to impersonate you. It may involve getting a text with a code sent to your cell phone or email; or setting up an Authentication APP on your smart phone.

At first login you will be prompted to setup MFA.

3. myOkanagan

myOkanagan is the online portal that lets applicants and students register or drop courses, make payments, access exam schedules, and view transcripts and grades. You can also change your contact information here. It's the starting point for online services.

myOkanagan is our administrative portal whereas Moodle is our learning portal.

Once signed in, you come to the MyOkanagan Student landing page, with links to most of the popular services.

One of the first links is SELF SERVICE, in the upper left, and it allows you to verify your personal contact information, register (add/drop) classes, or apply for Financial Aid.

4. Moodle

Moodle is an online learning platform. It allows students to access course materials, gain feedback, upload work, see grades and much more all by logging in to their very own online account. It may be used as a primary point of contact for online classes or as a supplement to traditional classroom lectures. All work is stored and accessible from home or on-campus.

5. Microsoft Office M365

Microsoft 365 (M365) is a commercial subscription hosted by Microsoft and is a suite of applications available via the cloud or for download to a local device. Okanagan College employees and students currently enrolled in courses have access to this service. This educational subscription includes access to the core Office products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/OneNote) as well as cloud based services such as Outlook, Teams and OneDrive. Additional products such as Access and Publisher may be available for download.

Office products may be used as an online cloud service or this can be a software download point for locally installed products on your laptop/computer.

You must use you college email account, NOT your personal email, when logging into office.com 

Office M365 is also where you will access your assigned COLLEGE email account.

6. eduroam on campus WiFi

Eduroam (education roaming) is a wireless network service that provides secure Internet access to students, staff and faculty across numerous Canadian and International education institutions. Eduroam is the preferred WiFi service for personally owned mobile devices and OC owned wireless at all campuses of Okanagan College.
