1 What is eduroam?

Eduroam (education roaming) is a wireless network service that provides secure internet access to students, staff, and faculty across numerous Canadian and international education institutions. It is the preferred WiFi service for both personally owned and OC-owned wireless devices at all Okanagan College campuses.

A one-time setup gives you WiFi access at every OC campus — and at many other Canadian and international institutions when you travel.

Important: If you are new to OC and have never logged into any network services, you must first log in to an OC computer or MyOkanagan and change your one-time temporary password before connecting to eduroam. The wireless system cannot handle the password reset condition of a new account.
2 Connect Manually Using Your OC Credentials

Go to your device's WiFi settings and connect to eduroam using the following:

Field Value
Username — Staff username@Okanagan.BC.Ca
Username — Student username@myOkanagan.BC.Ca
Password Same password used for email, MyOkanagan, or Moodle
Certificate If asked, choose Do not validate
3 Automated Configuration (Recommended)

  2. Download the geteduroam app for your device type
  3. Ensure your device's Wi-Fi is turned on
  4. Run the geteduroam app and follow the prompts:
    1. Select Institution — choose Okanagan College
    2. Select Profile — choose Employee or Student
    3. Select Next
    4. Enter your OC login credentials and press Connect to Network
    5. The app will create an eduroam profile and connect you automatically
