Introduction

Microsoft Teams is a powerful collaboration tool available to all Okanagan College students. It allows you to chat, meet, call, and collaborate all in one place. This guide will help you get started with Teams.

Accessing Microsoft Teams

 

  1. Sign In: Go to office.com and sign in with your Okanagan College email (firstname.lastname@myokanagan.bc.ca)  and password.

 

Open Teams:  Select Apps- All Apps then Click on the Teams icon. You can also download the Teams app for your desktop or mobile device from the same site.

3.  Download Desktop App- From Teams home webpage, On the Top Right corner click the 3 dots and select Download the desktop app to access the teams application or you can also download all MS365 apps from MS365 home page by selecting Install and more icon from Top right corner.

Basic Features

  1. Chat: Use the chat feature to send instant messages to your classmates and instructors. You can create group chats for team projects.
  2. Teams and Channels: Join or create teams for your courses or study groups. Within each team, you can create channels to organize different topics or projects.
  3. Meetings: Schedule and join online meetings for your classes or group discussions. Use the calendar feature to keep track of your meetings.
  4. File Sharing: Share and collaborate on files directly within Teams. You can upload documents, spreadsheets, and presentations to your team’s files tab.
  5. Calls: Make audio or video calls to your classmates and instructors. You can also use the screen sharing feature during calls.
