How to Add and Use the Quickmail Block in Moodle
The Quickmail block is a handy tool in Moodle that allows you to send emails directly to students enrolled in your course. Follow these steps to add and use it:
Step 1: Turn on Editing Mode
- Go to your course page.
- Click the Edit mode toggle at the top right of the page.
Step 2: Add the Quickmail Block
- Scroll down the side panel and click Add a block.
- From the list of blocks, scroll down to Q and select Quickmail.
- The Quickmail block will now appear on the right side of your course.
Step 3: Compose a Course Message
- Inside the Quickmail block, click Compose New Email.
- Select recipients:
- Choose specific groups or roles.
- You can also exclude certain groups or roles if needed.
- Add a subject line and write your message body.
- Attach files if necessary using the file upload option.
Step 4: Schedule Your Message
- Quickmail allows you to schedule when your email will be sent.
- This is useful for preparing messages in advance and having them automatically delivered during your course.
Step 5: Explore Other Blocks
When you click Add a block, you’ll also see many other blocks that you can add to your course to enhance functionality.
