Do you miss being able to set up online student groups meetings using old Collaborate?
Jitsi Meet is a free meeting tool that you will love.
No sign-up required! Just go to the site and type in your meeting name and start the meeting.
You will then be asked to give permission to use the camera and microphone prior to entering the meeting.
Once in, you will see that the toolbar looks very much like Collaborate!
Copy the URL or click on Participants, invite someone and copy the meeting link.
You can now paste the link into a URL activity in Moodle and in the URL activity settings restrict the activity to the particular group. Make sure you have created groups in your course first. Repeat for each group.
Note that students can alter the security options in their first meeting and create a passcode if they are worried about others joining their meeting.
