Review and Approve Your Migrated Brightspace Course

This self-service guide introduces the CourseBridge Educator Interface, the platform used to review Moodle-to-Brightspace course migrations at Okanagan College. The video explains how to access your course review, understand reviewer notes, communicate with the student reviewer, and approve receipt of your migrated course.

Watch this walkthrough to learn how to use CourseBridge to review your migrated Brightspace course and acknowledge receipt of the course review.

Step 1: Open Your CourseBridge Review Link

When you click the link provided to you, you will be taken to the CourseBridge review for your migrated course.

  1. Open the CourseBridge link provided to you.
  2. Review the course summary section.
  3. Check the Moodle ID, Brightspace ID, and any summary notes from the reviewer.

Step 2: Review What Was Checked

The What We Checked section shows the progress of the technical course review.

  • Course details
  • Syllabus
  • Gradebook
  • Issue log

Step 3: Read the Technical Review Notes

The technical review section identifies any areas that may need further review before teaching with the course in Brightspace.

  1. Read the reviewer notes carefully.
  2. Look for any items recommended for further exploration.
  3. Review any TA reviewer notes included in the section.

Step 4: Check the Issue Log

If any issues were identified during the technical review, they will be listed in the issue log.

  1. Review any issues listed in the issue log.
  2. Note anything that may need your attention before the course begins.
  3. Use the discussion area if you need clarification.

Step 5: Confirm You Have Reviewed the Notes

After reviewing the technical notes and issue log, confirm that you have reviewed and understand the information provided.

  1. Read through the review notes.
  2. Check that you understand any items flagged by the reviewer.
  3. Select the checkbox confirming that you have reviewed and understand the notes.

Step 6: Use the Discussion Area

The discussion feature supports shared communication between you and the student TA who reviewed your course.

  1. Open the discussion area in the course review.
  2. Ask any questions you have about the review notes or issue log.
  3. Use this space to communicate directly with the student TA reviewer.

Step 7: Approve Receipt of the Course

Once you have reviewed all information, approve receipt of the course to confirm that you understand the reviewer notes and are ready to prepare your Brightspace course.

  1. Complete your review of the course summary, notes, and issue log.
  2. Ask any needed questions before approving receipt.
  3. Approve receipt of the migrated course.

Step 8: Revisit Your Course Reviews

You can return to your available course reviews from the main CourseBridge review area.

  1. Click My Course Review in the top-left corner.
  2. Review the list of courses available to you.
  3. Open any course review to revisit the course details.

Pro Tip

CourseBridge is designed to help you understand what was reviewed during migration, not to replace your own course preparation.

After approving receipt, continue reviewing your Brightspace course from the learner perspective and make any teaching-specific updates before the course begins.
